What are the KiwiSaver contribution rates now, and what changed in 2026?
As checked on 7 September 2026, the default employee rate is 3.5%, with employee choices of 3.5%, 4%, 6%, 8% or 10%. The default employee and matching employer rate rose to 3.5% from 1 April 2026 and is scheduled to rise to 4% from 1 April 2028.
